Our large lounge, with its 200 year old wooden beams, has comfy sofas, a fully stocked bar and a huge fireplace. It has been styled in colours that reflect the local scenery – slate grey, sky blue and snowy white. Our candle-lit dining room has been decorated in tones of cool grey with contemporary bright accent colours.

At the Auberge all the meals are freshly home-cooked by Will, our highly talented and creative professional chef, using fresh, local produce. He takes pride in serving a mix of local dishes and international cuisine.
Vegetarians are well catered for by the proprietor, Andy Mac, himself a vegetarian and a qualified Cordon Vert chef. We are very happy to cater for other special dietary needs with advance notice.
Breakfast is a buffet-style feast. We offer a great array of options, including orange juice, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt and boiled eggs. Freshly baked hot croissants and bread with home-made marmalade, jams, and local honey are also available, along with freshly brewed tea, herbal teas or coffee.
We don’t serve lunch at the Auberge but we are happy to prepare packed lunches on request.
In the winter season, come back to a roaring log fire and après-ski tea with freshly baked cakes or biscuits.
We serve an early children’s supper so they can go to bed or watch a movie while you tuck in to a sumptuous 3-course dinner, served with our quality house wines, followed by coffee – all included in your holiday price. We have an extensive (and ever expanding) collection of fine wines in our cellar should you prefer something different.
One night each week we do not provide dinner and ask you to eat out at one of the many local restaurants.
In the summer we offer a different 3-course dinner each evening, which is included in our half board price. We serve local specialities including raclette and fondue, as well as international dishes.
Our wine cellar is well stocked with wines that we purchase ourselves direct from the growers, from which guests can choose to sample the local Vins de Savoie or select wines from all over France.
Our bar is very well stocked and has one of the most extensive collections of Scotch whiskies in France.
The Good Hotel Guide, said: “With loads of character, lots of old wooden beams, and a bust-a-gut-for-you attitude to service, this small hotel is in a …perfect location for skiing.”
Christmas & New Year
We celebrate Christmas and New Year in style at the Auberge. It is decorated in true festive spirit with lots of baubles and tinsel and a huge Christmas tree in the lounge.
Imagine waking on a crisp, white Christmas morning to the smell of baking croissants and freshly-brewed coffee. After a leisurely breakfast with bucks fizz to start the festivities you open presents with your loved ones beside the Christmas tree in front of the fire before heading out to the snowy slopes to ski (everything is open for business as usual at the resort over the holiday period).
Tea and Christmas cake await your return. You take a relaxing dip in the hot-tub before changing for dinner. We serve the works at the Auberge – roast turkey with stuffing, roast potatoes and all the traditional trimmings, followed by a flaming Christmas pudding with brandy cream, all washed down with our excellent AOC house wines. Round off the day with coffee and mince pies in front of the fire, and perhaps a cognac or whisky or two to help you wind down after all the excitement.
New Year’s Eve is party night at the Auberge, exclusively for our resident guests. We start with canapés and mulled wine in the bar, followed by a 4 course gourmet dinner. Our party bags, with funny hats, whistles & blowers, streamers and the infamous cotton “snowball” fight lead us up to midnight with champagne and fireworks on the terrace, followed by dancing for those with any energy left.
And the best thing is that all the hard work is taken care of by our team of professional staff, leaving you with nothing to do but enjoy the festive season however the fancy takes you.
The Auberge is the perfect venue for an off-piste course, as it offers easy access to some of the best off-piste or back-country ski terrain in Europe.
Sainte Foy has deservedly built up a reputation as an iconic off-piste resort and has become a must-ski destination for dedicated powder hounds. While skiers with some off-piste experience will enjoy some of the classic descents such as the North Face of Fogliettaz and Col Grenier, the easily accessible, gentle powder fields between the piste runs offer an ideal training ground for powder “pups” new to the delights of off-piste skiing.
Our proximity to the neighbouring mega-circuits of the Espace Killy, Paradiski and the Espace San Bernardo offers a huge choice of ski terrain, allowing your instructor to find the best possible ski conditions each day.
The area also offers a huge choice of ski touring routes, from the gentle climb to the village of Le Crôt to the epic ascent of the Archeboc.
Click on the links to find details of courses based at the Auberge run by our main off-piste partner Mountain Tracks, as well as Snoworks & Ski Club Freshtracks.
Groups & Corporate
The Auberge is the perfect size to accommodate a group of friends or an extended family group. We offer special group discounts and bonuses for party leaders in return for all the hard work of organising the group.
We do everything we can to make things as easy as possible for you. We can collect your group from the airport or rail station and transport you to the different resorts during your stay. We can lay on special entertainment such as wine tastings, off-piste guiding, dog-sledding or heli-skiing, or organise a party to celebrate that special event, such as a wedding anniversary or special birthday.
We are also a great venue for a corporate seminar, hospitality or team-building trip. Our dining room can be transformed into a comfortable meeting room and the Den has a large, flat-screen TV, DVD and video player, which can make it an ideal venue for multi-media presentations.
We can organise team-bonding group activities such as heli-skiing or dog-sledding in winter, and white water rafting or paragliding in summer.
In short, we’ll do everything possible to ensure your group stay is a success, whatever the occasion.
If you’ve stayed at the Auberge in recent years, you’ll have experienced first-hand our talented chef Will. Now, by popular demand, he is sharing some of his secrets during our summer cookery courses.
On each course day, there will be a 3 hour class in the morning and a 1.5 hour course in the late afternoon, with the option to assist with the dinner service or just sit back and enjoy the fruits of the days labour. The focus will be on learning to prepare a fabulous dinner to impress family and friends, with the minimum of effort and maximum efficiency.
The morning classes will include a demonstration by one of our professional chefs and plenty of hands-on experience as you help to prepare lunch and dinner for the group. You will learn knife handling skills, boning and jointing meat and fish, how to cook the perfect poached egg, how to create elaborate and impressive spun sugar work, baking skills, budgeting and time management, and we’ll do our best to incorporate any special requests from course participants.
The focus of the afternoon/evening sessions will be on cooking an impressive dinner and getting it to the table perfectly cooked at just the right moment. In these sessions, you’ll also learn how to make your dishes, and your table look their very best.
The afternoons will be free for you to explore the local area, try one of the many local sporting activities, join a guided walk or an excursion, or just relax in the sunny garden, hot-tub and sauna at the Auberge.
You’ll come away with new skills, a recipe book, a souvenir apron and a sample of your work to impress family or friends.
Summer 2018 course dates and prices
The price is €600 per person for 4 nights/3 course days.
The price is for SOLE occupancy of one of our comfortable ensuite bedrooms and includes dinner on arrival day, breakfast on departure day, and breakfast, light lunch/picnic and dinner on course days. Discounts are available for double/twin occupancy and non-course members.
Dates for 2018 are:
Thursday July 5th to Monday July 9th
This is the first weekend of the summer season so everything will be in full swing, but the crowds will not yet have arrived. This is the perfect time to see the Alpine flowers at their best.
Thursday August 9th to Monday August 13th
This is during the school holidays, so would be the perfect time to take a multi-generation course. This worked very well for one family with teenage children, Mum and Grandma all happily cooking alongside one another.
Thursday 27th September to Monday 1st October
The kids will be back in school and half term is still a while away, so this would be the perfect time for Mum to take a break, perhaps with a BFF or two. The autumn foliage will be glorious at this time too.
We’ll happily quote for alternative course dates for private groups of at least 4 participants.
