ESF ski school
The ESF ski school is like many other things in Ste Foy: small, friendly and intimate! Laurent and his instructors in the ESF have a great record of successful teaching of our friends, family and guests. They offer group lessons as well as individual tuition and off-piste instruction and guiding. We strongly recommend that you book well in advance, especially for peak weeks. You can book online so that your tickets will be waiting for you on arrival avoiding those first day queues.
Independent instructors & guides
If for any reason the ESF does not suit your requirements, we can suggest local independent instructors and guides who have extensive experience working with both adults and children. Ask us for further details on how they can help you improve your skiing technique.
We particularly recommend Bryan Hogg, a BASI qualified Scottish ski instructor who is based in Sainte Foy during the winter (click here for more details). Bryan runs most of the off-piste courses based at the Auberge but is equally good at teaching beginners and children as well as those just wanting to improve their technique. A couple of sessions with Bryan will put most people back on the right track; we really can't recommend him highly enough.
We also recommend Nick Quinn another BASI qualified instructor based in Sainte Foy and Tignes. Nick has been teaching all levels of skiers in the area for the last 5 years before which he was a BASI trainer. Nick can also organise snowboard lessons with a fellow instructor. Off-Piste courses and Ski Safari
We have a programme of off-piste courses based at the Auberge sur la Montagne running thoughout the winter. There are courses for different ability levels from beginners to experts. And NEW for this season, don't miss our Ski Safari Week. This is a mainly on-piste week giving you the opportunity to ski all the local resorts in one week, led by an experienced mountain professional who will offer tips to improve your ski technique along the way.
